A STARLab trading session is a dynamic adventure for students as they manage financial assets against a backdrop of ever-changing price-sensitive events and announcements.
Sometimes traders, sometimes bankers, and sometimes entrepreneurs, our students adopt a variety of roles as they trade for profit and to manage the uncertainty and risk of a fast-moving market. They apply theoretical concepts of portfolio management in a simulated trading market, trading equities, cash, currencies, bonds and derivatives. They also get to test strategies like option spreads and shortselling.
Sometimes rowdy, sometimes eerily quiet, a STARLab session is driven by the same kind of competitiveness that students would experience in real-world financial markets.
