Accounting

The Department of Accounting is committed to the advancement of knowledge and preparation of accounting professionals through high-quality research, teaching and learning.

We have received the highest possible rating of five in the latest Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) report for Accounting, Auditing and Accountability.

We teach into a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offering specialisations in Accounting. We also offer graduate research programs.

Centre for Health Economics

The Centre for Health Economics has been at the forefront of health economics teaching and research in Australia for over 25 years.

If you have a minimum of an Honours degree in the broad disciplines of Econometrics and Business Statistics and/or significant relevant industry experience, have the ability to engage and educate, and enjoy working as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.

While welcoming potential candidates across Econometrics and Business Statistics, we are particularly interested in talking to potential Teaching Associates who can assist with our growing areas of actuarial science and business analytics with knowledge/experience as follows:

Actuarial Teaching Associates

Completion of actuarial studies with exemptions in the Actuarial professions Part 1 subjects or have worked in an actuarial organisation applying techniques from part 1 of the syllabus.

Business Analytics Teaching Associates

You have studied more advanced business analytics units particularly data mining and have experience using R.

As a Teaching Associate, you will work with the support, guidance and/or direction from the relevant Chief Examiner(s) to deliver tutorials, workshops, labs and assist with assessment as required.

Teaching Associates will demonstrate the capacity to:

  • inspire and develop rapport with students
  • work independently and collaboratively
  • motivate students and encourage participation
  • deliver effective education
  • simplify complex subject material to assist students in achieving desired learning outcomes.
