Professor Harmen Oppewal

Harmen Oppewal is Professor and Head of the Department of Marketing.

Harmen teaches consumer behaviour and resesarch methods. His research focuses on consumer decision-making behaviour in retail and related services contexts, often using experimental and/or modelling methods. He has conducted numerous studies in marketing and retail, housing and real estate, recreation and tourism, and transportation. His projects are either academic or for business and public policy clients.

He has over 50 publications in major journals in marketing, psychology, planning, tourism and transportation including the J of Consumer Research, J of Marketing Research, International J of Research in Marketing, J of Retailing, J of Business Research, European J of Marketing, Marketing Letters, Acta Psychologica, J of Economic Psychology, Environment and Planning A, J of Travel Research, Tourism Management and Transportation Research A.
