The Department of Marketing achieves significant milestone

The Department of Marketing has recently achieved a significant milestone and was awarded the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) accreditation for the Master of Marketing.

"This is a tremendous achievement that consolidates our status as a quality provider of tertiary level marketing education in Australia. This accreditation by the peak body for marketing professionals, strengthens the currency of our postgraduate marketing degree within a workplace setting" said Professor Harmen Oppewal, Head, Department of Marketing.

A significant aspect of the accreditation process focused on demonstrating authentic engagement with industry.  Endorsement by businesses across a range of industry sectors validated the relevancy and application of the skills needed by graduating students to operate as a highly effective marketer in a competitive environment.

The Certificate of Accreditation was presented by Lee Tinitto (CEO, AMI) to Professor Oppewal; Nicki Anderson (Chair, Industry Advisory Board) and Paul Loughran (Manager, Department of Marketing) on Tuesday 8 November at the Department of Marketing Industry Advisory Board meeting.
