Department of Accounting

Do you want to take your studies on the road? The accounting international study programs are an exciting way to experience and explore how culture affects accounting practices.

Eligible students can study in the summer semester, completing theoretical workshops and modules in November and December, and then take off on a three-week study program across Europe in January, including classes at the Monash University Centre in Prato, Italy.

The 2016/2017 program travelled to Rome, Prato, Switzerland, Paris, Amsterdam and London, visiting organisations such as the Bank for International Settlements, The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), National Australia Bank – London, Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers, among others. The group also had ample time to appreciate the various cultures across Europe and see the major sights.

Approximate costs for the overseas component of the program is expected to be $8,500 (not including all meals and spending money), however, every student accepted into the program has the potential to qualify for a faculty grant of AUD$1,000. Standard unit fees will apply and are in addition to the travel cost.
